A noob refers to someone who doesn't have the basic knowledge when it comes to pop culture, tech terms or just generally what seems to be 'in' that week.If you ever happen to look over your son or daughter's shoulder while they are on instant message sites or Facebook and you see 'POS', it refers to: parents over shoulder. Noob slang A person who is new to something, especially a competitive activity. Sometimes stylized in online communications as 'n00b.' I'm starting to really enjoy playing online multiplayer in certain video games, even though I'm still a total noob and get my butt kicked. Noob (plural noobs) (Internet slang, often pejorative) A newb or newbie; refers to the idea that someone is new to a game, concept, or idea; implying a lack of experience. Also, in some areas the word noob can mean someone is obsessed with things.

  1. A inexperienced and/or ignorant or unskilled person. Especially used in computer games.
  2. Noob Ask most players to describe the game to a 'noob' and they'll inevitably compare it to chess.
