World of Warcraft Classic was launched just a few days back on 26 August 2019. Since then, it has been a beloved game for many streamers and a popular gaming choice for gaming fans. It is also the most-watched gaming on Twitch in the past few weeks leaving behind the likes of Fortnite, or CS: GO, League of Legends, and other streamed games. Recently, WOW Classic even received free character transfers for selected realms. But currently, it doesn’t seem to be a good time for all the WOW Classic fans out there as a wave of DDoS attacks is affecting the servers. However, Blizzard is actively working on the issue and hopefully, the servers will be back soon.
Some online services continue to be impacted by a series of DDoS attacks which are resulting in high latency and disconnections. These disruption effects have been felt by a portion of our players, impacting their gaming experience. Thank you again for your continued patience.

The attacks began on September 7th and continued on September 8th too. Even though many players are out of the attack now but a large number of the community is still facing issues. Blizzard scheduled another series of tests for today morning and we hope are to go by PC Gamers report, the servers are back again.
No indications in Battledotnet app or CS twitter feed. We were just logging in, and both got DC’ed then just get the message in the title. Update - connecting in, all realms ‘offline’. We guess it’s a restart then. Using Battledotnet app with an actual dot results in the post being rejected for being a linknice own goal there dudes.
The attacks seem to be coming through a Twitter account named UkDrillas who took the credit for the attack further giving a warning before many players began running into connection errors:
In roughly 20-30mins.
Will attack every US PVP WoW server.
Just setting up domain =)

But since the takedowns, the account has been suspended and the tweets have been deleted.
Wow Classic Servers Ddos Attack
Wow Ddos Attack Today
September 7, 2019 Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Classic servers appear to be under a massive Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. It appears that a harassment campaign aimed at derailing the live streams of popular World of Warcraft streamers Asmongold and Sodapoppin are what kicked the DDoS attack off. A DDoS attack is an attack on a computer network in which multiple computers are used to transmit a flood of superfluous requests to the target network, thereby overloading it, and making it unavailable to other users. Mateias’ DDoS attacks caused World of Warcraft servers to crash and prevented some paying customers from accessing the game. WoW Server Status: Blizzard servers are reportedly down for WoW Classic (Image: BLIZZARD) UPDATE: Blizzard has now confirmed that WoW Classic servers are suffering from a DDOS attack today. 'We are currently monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games,' a message from the support team reads.
